Kapwa Pinoy Pamana celebrates the inherited bond of community, among people who know one another and those meeting for the first time.
Where the project began
Filipina, born in Monaco, shaped by more than one culture
I was born and raised in Monaco to two Filipino parents from Bicol. They arrived about forty-five years ago and passed on respect, hard work, sacrifice and a deep commitment to family.
My parents mostly spoke English to me. Like many second-generation children, I understand Filipino without truly speaking it. As a teenager, teleserye became my own bridge back to the language.
I danced tinikling, served as treasurer of the Philippine Association of Monaco, and watched my mother become its president. I grew up in Europe, but my Filipino imprint has always remained strong.

Roots are not boundaries
There is no single way to be Filipino
You may be born in the Philippines or elsewhere. You may speak a Philippine language, understand it without speaking it, or still be discovering it.
For diaspora and mixed-culture families, connection can be intimate, distant, joyful or complicated. It does not have to be perfect to be real.
You do not have to prove that you are ‘Filipino enough’. Your journey is part of our collective story.
